Summer Project 2026
LYCC Summer 2026 – Youth Provision Overview
LYCC would like to share a huge thank you to Sefton MBC Ford Ward Councillors and Enterprise Credit Union for providing funding support throughout the summer period. Due to their amazing contributions, we were able to facilitate a range of engaging on-site and off-site youth activities, providing young people with opportunities to socialise, develop new skills and take part in positive experiences during the summer holidays.
On-Site Activities
Throughout the summer, LYCC provided a range of themed activities and events for different age groups, including:
· Year 7 BBQ & Disco
· Year 8 BBQ & Disco
· Year 4/5 Saturday Morning Breakfast Party & Face Painting
· Year 5/6 BBQ, Disco & Inflatable Obstacle Course
These events provided young people with opportunities to enjoy positive social experiences in a safe and welcoming environment, while developing friendships, building confidence and engaging with staff and peers.
Off-Site Activities & Trips
As part of the summer programme, LYCC also organised a number of trips and activities within the wider community, including:
· Cocky Trail – 15 young people attended.
· Planet Ice & McDonald’s – 15 young people attended.
· Ninja Warrior & McDonald’s – 15 young people attended.
The off-site activities provided young people with opportunities to experience new environments, participate in physical and recreational activities,
develop independence and confidence,
and build positive relationships with their peers and staff.
Ultimate Kids CIC Partnership
In addition to our youth provision, LYCC worked in partnership with Ultimate Kids CIC to provide low-cost, sports-based camps and opportunities for young people to engage in enriching activities.
Across the four camps, 160 young people aged 8–13 years participated and benefited from this opportunity. The camps provided young people with additional opportunities to remain active, try new activities, socialise with peers and make positive use of their time during the summer holidays.
Following the success of the summer camps, LYCC and Ultimate Kids CIC are now in conversation about how this type of support can be provided more consistently moving forward.
Overall, our Summer 2026 programme provided a varied range of on-site, off-site and partnership activities, involving 376 young people engagements, ensuring young people had access to positive, safe and engaging opportunities throughout the summer period.
