Litherland Youth and Community Centre (LYCC) or "The Boysie" as it’s affectionately known has been at the heart of of our community since 1938. Operating through the years as a boys club, youth centre and in 2011 developing into a youth and community centre. 

LYCC is governed by a voluntary Board of Trustee/Directors led by Co-Chairs Karen Nolan and Rachel Fitzsimmons. With the centre and charity run by a dedicated and passionate team managed by CEO, Amy Johnston and supported by her very able team of Senior Managers, Lead workers, staff members and volunteers who are all dedicated to fulfilling the charity aims and objectives and most importantly meeting the needs of the community. 

Based in the heart of Ford Ward, Litherland we are here to support, inspire and connect people of all ages from our immediate community and wider. We pride ourselves in creating a safe, welcoming space where people come together, learn, build lasting friendships and belong. We believe strong communities start with opportunity, encouragement, and a friendly face at the door.

Our principle aim is to further benefit the residents of Litherland and the wider community of Sefton by bringing together local individuals, the local authorities, voluntary and other sector organisations in a common effort to advance life, opportunities, and futures. Through the provision of recreational, educational and leisure time activities. All provided in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions and quality of life, develop their skills, capabilities, confidence, and resilience. To provide opportunities into work, education, volunteering, engagement, and training along with promoting health and wellbeing through creating and providing a safe and healthy environment to access support and signposting for all.
